Workshop in West Yorkshire
31 Jul - 04 Aug
Moving Landscapes is a 5 day Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) based dance intensive which will cover classes 6 - 11 of the Introductory pedagogy and dance improvisation inside and outside of the studio.
The course uses SRT as a starting point, promoting improved alignment, effortless movement and greater awareness. The imagery and ideas are then taken into two contrasting environments; the secluded forest of Timble and vast, rocky landscape of Brimham Rocks. Inside and outside are integrated, allowing new perception and creativity to emerge.
"I feel genuinely inspired by what has taken place this week." Participant, 2015
The intensive will be based at The Otley Courthouse www.otleycourthouse.org.uk, an arts centre in the centre of the charming town of Otley, 10miles north of Leeds. Accommodation of a range of levels can be found in the local area including the possibility of staying as a guest with a local resident for a small fee.
“A fantastic experience. Excellent teachers... very accessible, inspiring introduction to the technique. The best course I have ever experienced by far!!! I will take all I have learnt back into my practice and continue experiencing the work.” Participant, 2013
